Bungie remade Blood Gultch from Halo 2. And it's even bigger now. If you don't want to watch the whole video skip to the end and you can see how big it is. Also looks like they added a hologram armor ability. Not so sure about that will have to use it before I judge it though.

On Bungie.net they showed that after you forge a map you will earn credits towards your rank and armory.

So basically the ranking system in Reach is skill-less.

oh well, at least for 3 years Halo 3 had a real ranking system where you could tell if someone was somewhat decent or not. Now all the bad Staff Captains and Field Majors will be Generals in Reach (event though they never would if it was a real ranking system)

Someone explain to me how this ranking system in Halo works, I've always been worndering about that? Is it like COD where you rank up just for playing?

In halo 3 it was legit. It was based off of Trueskill. Basically if you win more and beat better players you gain a higher rank in ranked playlists only. Its nothing like Modern Warfare ranking system. MW2's is purely progressive . . . this means ANYONE no matter how bad or good can achieve the highest rank, all you have to do is keep playing the darn game, lose all you want and still get the highest rank eventually.

However in halo 3 you HAD to be legit and good to even get a 45 let alone the prized level 50.

Now in Reach its progressive meaning anyone can get the highest ranks, its not based off of skill anymore but just a dumb meter how how much and how long you've played the game.

Halo 3 not only had your highest skill but exp as well, so it showed how good you were but also how much you played since more exp = a higher ranked in each category.

As for me . . . well I wreck face in Halo 3:



Even though Reach's ranking system is bull I plan to do the same even though players of any skill level will sadly have the same rank as me, only difference is my stats of k/d and kills will be much better.

I've know how it works from the bungie.net forums when bungie explained it to us, they have a huge thread over there explaining how trueskill in halo 3 works. and not to mention I've been playing Halo 3 since 07' when it came out I should now how the the ranking system works lol


In other news, now that I am getting this new job at Microsoft I'm most likely going to miss the midnight release of Reach, but oh well. I'll have a job so I guess I can live with waiting one more night to pick my game up lol

Ya but I think the graphics have always been good not the best though. Theres a ton of games with better graphics then Halo 3. But looks like Reach is a lot better then a lot of other games.

Anyway I guess that first map in the video isn't a remake of Midship just has the same style.

I'm surprised you found that vids of those maps, not even Bungie.net has shown those maps and usually they are good about showing / revealing stuff.

They renamed two Halo 2 maps. They are supposedly the same, only by a different name.

Going back to the ranking system. I'm pretty sure you get credits for forging and winning games. Which you can use for armor. I'm pretty sure that the credits don't go towards your rank.

Bungie Pro gives a player extra 24+ fileshare slots, free render points, and some other bonuses regular players do not get. It has nothing to do with being able to play more parts of the game or anything.

Oh. So it's like PlayStation Plus where it doesn't change your ability to play everything, it just has exclusive stuff for the people who subscribe. Sounds like if I was a Halo person, I would have it. Because I'm a boss. :)
